Eloping in Tasmania should not cost the same as a full wedding. The Elopement & Micro Wedding Package is for couples who want more than a paperwork-only marriage, with just the two of you or a micro wedding of under 20 guests, and without a big venue hire or a long planning process.
You get a real ceremony written with you and delivered by an authorised celebrant: your story, your promises, and the moment you are legally married. We handle the legal wording, the signing, and registration of your marriage with Tasmania Births, Deaths and Marriages, so you can focus on the day.
At $1,400 including GST, it is one clear celebrant fee for Hobart and Southern Tasmania, with no upsell and no pressure to invite anyone. Further afield is available by arrangement.
How it compares to our other packages
The $700 paperwork-only marriage is the short legal ceremony and nothing extra. It is perfect if you only need to be legally married, for example for a visa, or because you are celebrating elsewhere.
The elopement package adds the ceremony. We talk before the day, write words that sound like the two of you, make room for vows and rings, and meet you somewhere that means something to you, whether that is a Hobart lookout, a Huon Valley orchard, or a quiet beach.
Inviting 20 or more guests? The $1,600 wedding ceremony package is built for larger weddings, with planning meetings and a PA system so everyone can hear.
The legal bits still apply to an elopement
An elopement is still a legal marriage under the Marriage Act 1961. You need to give a Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) at least one month before the ceremony, bring the right identity documents, and have two adult witnesses present on the day.
