A fiancé visa letter, or intended marriage support letter, is usually a letter from the celebrant confirming that the marriage paperwork has been started and that an intended marriage is being planned.
When We Can Usually Issue One
Usually, only after:
- the NOIM has been properly prepared
- it has been witnessed correctly
- we have received it
- and we have enough information to confirm the intended marriage details honestly
What the Letter Can Do
It may help show that:
- you have taken real steps toward marriage
- a celebrant is involved
- an intended marriage is being planned in Australia
What the Letter Does Not Do
It does not:
- guarantee a visa outcome
- replace migration advice
- override the normal marriage law requirements
If you need visa advice, go to the Department of Home Affairs or a registered migration agent.
